The government recently announced a free online training program designed to empower young individuals with digital skills, enabling them to access opportunities in the online job market.
This initiative, named the 'FINYA Computer Free Online Training Programme is a response to President William Ruto's recent encouragement for the youth to leverage technology for livelihood.
Spearheaded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the program is geared towards providing the youth with crucial knowledge and skills essential for success in the digital economy.
“The objective of the programme is to equip young people with knowledge, skills, and attitudes for digital/online work to enable decent work and earn an income from the Gig & Freelancing,” reads a notice on Monday.
The FINYA Computer Free Online Training Programme is set to encompass a range of modules tailored to accommodate diverse skill levels and interests.

In addition, an Advanced Module focusing on Graphic Design will be offered for those looking to further refine their expertise in this specific field.
Scheduled to run from 8 am to 5 pm, the program is slated to take place from March 4 to 8, 2024.
Participants can anticipate engaging in interactive sessions and practical exercises facilitated by experienced trainers, enhancing their learning experience.
